Air India Express expands operations to Delhi and to the UAE

Air India Express adds flights to Delhi, Sharjah, RAK & Al Ain

In a recent announcement, the Kochi-based international budget airline, Air India Express (AIE), stated, that for the first time since its launch in 2005, it will be spreading its wings to the capital city of New Delhi.

The airline is all set to expand its operations from New Delhi. Daily flights on the Delhi-Dubai and Delhi-Sharjah routes will begin from May. As part of the recently announced summer schedule, the flights from New Delhi are scheduled to begin from May 10 and will be serviced by one of the six new Boeing 737 leased aircrafts, which are being inducted into the fleet.

The summer schedule of AI Express will also include increased flights from Mumbai. Two new services on the Mumbai-Dubai and Mumbai-Sharjah routes are set to begin from April 7.

Ras Al Khaimah is being added as a new destination, with four weekly flights from Kozhikode, every week. This flight will be shared with Al Ain. On Monday and Friday the flight will operate on the Kozhikode-Al Ain-Ras Al Khimah-Kozhikode route, whereas on Wednesday and Saturday, it will operate on the Kozhikode-Ras-Al Khaimah-Al Ain-Kozhikode route.

AI Express will raise its frequency of flights between the Middle East and Kerala to 119 flights, from the current 96 flights every week, with effect from March 28, this year.

The frequency between Kozhikode and Dubai is also set to be doubled from the present daily flight, to two flights every day. The airline will operate a morning flight, besides the existing night flight to Dubai.

The airline declared that Kozhikode is its largest revenue centre and it is increasing its capacity to 11,718 seats every week, from its present 8,184 seats.
